“We are moved by Parkinson’s and now we are moving. A great initiative by the Yuvedo Foundation in the fight against neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson’s. That’s exactly the right approach. More and more supporters are needed”, says Comedian Markus Maria Profitlich.
On Saturday, September 12, 2020, an international team of experts, authors, artists and researchers will start the bike tour “The Very Little Great River Rhine Ride” from Cologne to Baden-Baden.
The team initiated by the Yuvedo Foundation is committed to faster healing and better medical care for people with Parkinson’s and other neurodegenerative diseases. About half of the participants suffer from Parkinson’s disease. The aim of the bike tour is to make the public, including the European Parliament, aware of the new »Brainstorm« project and to find supporters and sponsors.
The »Brainstorm« project focuses on the economic and regulatory framework for the development of an effective treatment for neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson’s, i.e. on setting the right incentives for effective research and development.
A public-private financing project, the Brainstorm Fund, is to be implemented in cooperation with the kENUP Foundation.
The team is accompanied by friends, families and doctors as well as by FluxRC/idee.
Among the participants are the comedian Markus Maria Profitlich, patron of the Parkinson-Youngsters e.V., Nadine Mattes, 1st chairwoman of the Parkinson-Youngsters e.V. and the co-founder of the Yuvedo Foundation Dr. Joerg Karenfort (CEO). Meeting point is 9 a.m., start at 10 a.m. on the Cologne Cathedral Square. The next stops are the Arp Museum Bahnhof Rolandseck, Koblenz, Alzey and Karlsruhe – the tour will end on September 15 in Baden-Baden.
